For a while now, YUVA Urban has been working at the national level with various networks and federations and also participating in national advocacy with networking partners. We aim to step up our advocacy work so as to strengthen our position and the bargaining power of the urban poor at the national level.
YUVA Urban aims to lead advocacy efforts on Social Security, National Hawkers Policy, Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY), Urban Livelihood Mission, and National Policy on Migration, among others, with our national networks. Along with our advocacy work at the national level, we plan to empower organisations in other states to advocate for their rights. YUVA Urban has also been working directly with partners and fellows in other states to strengthen their capacities.
YUVA Urban seeks to strategise with its partners in the Eastern states including Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal to improve state level interventions. The National Urban Resource Desk will be strengthened for this purpose.
